Enchiridion · §50
ἐμμένε τοῖς δόγμασιν ὡς νόμοις, ὡς ἀσεβὲς ὂν τοῦτο παραβῆναι. ὅ τι δ᾽ ἄν τις εἴπῃ σοι, τοῦτο μὴ ἐπιστρέφου, ὅτι τοῦτο οὐ πολλοῦ λόγου ἐστίν. ἐπὶ πόσον γὰρ προελεύσῃ;
emmene tois dogmasin hōs nomois, hōs asebes on touto parabēnai. ho ti d' an tis eipē soi, touto mē epistrephou, hoti touto ou pollou logou estin. epi poson gar proeleusē?
Whatever has been laid down for you, abide by it as though it were a law — as though it would be impious to transgress it. Pay no attention to whatever anyone says about it; that is not really your concern. How far will you let yourself be drawn?
