Japji Sahib · Pauri 33

Ik doo jeebhau lakh hohi lakh hovahi lakh vees. Lakh lakh gayrhaa aakhee-ah ayk naam jagdees. Ayt raahi pat pavrhee-aa charhee-ai ho-ay ikees. Sun galaa aakaas kee keetaa aa-ee rees. Nanak nadree paa-ee-ai koorhee koorhai thees.

If from one tongue a hundred thousand tongues became — and from those, two million more — and each were to repeat hundreds of thousands of times the one Name of the Lord of the world — on that path, rung by rung, one climbs and becomes one with the One. Hearing tales of the celestial heights, even the worms are seized with envy to imitate. Nanak says — it is by His glance one is attained; otherwise it is the false boast of the false.
