Japji Sahib · Pauri 5

Saachaa Saahib saach naa-ay, bhaakhi-aa bhaa-o apaar. Aakhah mangah deh deh, daat kare daataar. Pher ke agai rakhee-ai, jit disai darbaar. Muho ke bolan bolee-ai, jit sun dhare pi-aar. Amrit vaylaa sach naa-o, vadi-aa-ee veechaar. Karmee aavai kaprhaa, nadree mokh du-aar. Nanak evai jaanee-ai, sabh aapay sachi-aar.

True is the Master, True is His Name — spoken with boundless love. People beg and beg, 'give us, give us' — the Giver gives. Then what can we offer back, that the divine court may be seen? What words from the mouth, that hearing them He may bestow love? In the ambrosial hour, the True Name — contemplate His greatness. By past actions the body's robe is given; by grace the door of liberation. Nanak says — know this: He Himself is all Truth.
