Gaavai ko taan, hovai kisai taan. Gaavai ko daat, jaanai neesaan. Gaavai ko gun vadi-aa-ee-aa chaar. Gaavai ko vidi-aa vikham veechaar. Gaavai ko saaj kare tan khayh. Gaavai ko jee-a lai phir dayh. Gaavai ko jaapai disai door. Gaavai ko vekhai haadraa hadoor. Kathnaa kathee na aavai tot. Kath kath kathee kotee kot kot. Daydaa day laiday thak paahi. Jugaa jugantar khaahee khaahi. Hukmee hukam chalaa-ay raahu. Nanak vigsai veparvaahu.

Some sing of His power — who has such power? Some sing of His giving — they know His sign. Some sing of His beautiful virtues and four greatnesses. Some sing of His difficult, profound wisdom. Some sing of how He builds the body and reduces it to dust. Some sing of how He takes life away and then gives it back. Some sing of His distance, perceiving Him as far. Some sing of His ever-present nearness, immediate and intimate. To speak of Him exhausts no telling — millions upon millions speak and speak. The Giver gives, the receivers tire of receiving. Through age upon age, they consume and consume. By Hukam He sets the path moving — Nanak says, He blossoms, the Carefree One.
