Nidhāya daṇḍaṃ bhūtesu, tasesu thāvaresu ca;Yo na hanti na ghāteti, tamahaṃ brūmi brāhmaṇaṃ.
Nidhaya dandam bhutesu, tasesu thavaresu ca; Yo na hanti na ghateti, tamaham brumi brahmanam.
The one who has laid aside the rod toward all beings, whether moving or still, who does not kill or cause to kill — him I call a brahmin.
