Na brāhmaṇassa pahareyya, nāssa muñcetha brāhmaṇo;Dhī brāhmaṇassa hantāraṃ, tato dhī yassa muñcati.

Na brahmanassa pahareyya, nassa munchetha brahmano; Dhi brahmanassa hantaram, tato dhi yassa munchati.

One should not strike a brahmin, nor should the brahmin let loose his anger against the striker. Shame on him who strikes a brahmin; greater shame on the brahmin who strikes back.
