Yassa pāraṃ apāraṃ vā, pārāpāraṃ na vijjati;Vītaddaraṃ visaṃyuttaṃ, tamahaṃ brūmi brāhmaṇaṃ.
Yassa param aparam va, paraparam na vijjati; Vitaddaram visamyuttam, tamaham brumi brahmanam.
He for whom there is neither this shore nor the further shore, nor both — who is free from distress and unbound — him I call a brahmin.
