Dhammapada · 24.22

Hananti bhogā dummedhaṃ, no ve pāragavesino;Bhogataṇhāya dummedho, hanti aññeva attanaṃ.

Hananti bhoga dummedham, no ve paragavesino; Bhogatanhaya dummedho, hanti anneva attanam.

Wealth destroys the foolish, but not those seeking the further shore. Through craving for wealth, the fool destroys others as well as himself.
