Yaṃ esā sahatī jammī, taṇhā loke visattikā;Sokā tassa pavaḍḍhanti, abhivaṭṭhaṃva bīraṇaṃ.

Yam esa sahati jammi, tanha loke visattika; Soka tassa pavaddhanti, abhivatthamva biranam.

Whoever this base, entangling craving overcomes in the world — his sorrows grow as bīraṇa grass grows when watered.
