Dhammapada · 23.10

No ce labhetha nipakaṃ sahāyaṃ, saddhiṃcaraṃ sādhuvihāridhīraṃ;Rājāva raṭṭhaṃ vijitaṃ pahāya, eko care mātaṅgaraññeva nāgo.

No ce labhetha nipakam sahayam, saddhincaram sadhuviharidhiram; Rajava rattham vijitam pahaya, eko care matangarannev nago.

If you do not find a prudent companion to walk with — wise, of good conduct — then like a king abandoning a conquered realm, walk alone like an elephant in the Mātaṅga forest.
