Dhammapada · 21.13

Duppabbajjaṃ durabhiramaṃ, durāvāsā gharā dukhā;Dukkhosamānasaṃvāso, dukkhānupatitaddhagū;Tasmā na caddhagū siyā, na ca dukkhānupatito siyā.

Duppabbajjam durabhiramam, duravasa ghara dukha; Dukkhosamanasamvaso, dukkhanupatitaddhagu; Tasma na caddhagu siya, na ca dukkhanupatito siya.

Hard is going forth into the renunciate life; hard is it to delight in it. Painful is the household life; painful is association with those of unequal mind; pain pursues the wanderer of saṃsāra. Therefore, let one not be a wanderer, let one not be pursued by pain.
