Dhammapada · 20.10

Yogā ve jāyatī bhūri, ayogā bhūrisaṅkhayo;Etaṃ dvedhāpathaṃ ñatvā, bhavāya vibhavāya ca;Tathāttānaṃ niveseyya, yathā bhūri pavaḍḍhati.

Yoga ve jayati bhuri, ayoga bhurisankhayo; Etam dvedhapatham natva, bhavaya vibhavaya ca; Tathattanam niveseyya, yatha bhuri pavaddhati.

From application, wisdom is born; from non-application, wisdom is lost. Knowing this twofold path — of gain and of loss — let one settle oneself so that wisdom may grow.
