Na sīlabbatamattena, bāhusaccena vā pana;Atha vā samādhilābhena, vivittasayanena vā.

Na silabbatamattena, bahusaccena va pana; Atha va samadhilabhena, vivittasayanena va.

Not by mere virtue and vows, not by much learning, not by attaining concentration, not by lying down in seclusion —
