Dhammapada · 19.15

Na tena ariyo hoti, yena pāṇāni hiṃsati;Ahiṃsā sabbapāṇānaṃ, ariyoti pavuccati.

Na tena ariyo hoti, yena panani himsati; Ahimsa sabbapananam, ariyoti pavuccati.

One is not a noble one merely by harming living beings. By non-harming of all living beings is one called a noble one.
