Dhammapada · 19.4

Na tāvatā dhammadharo, yāvatā bahu bhāsati;Yo ca appampi sutvāna, dhammaṃ kāyena passati;Sa ve dhammadharo hoti, yo dhammaṃ nappamajjati.

Na tavata dhammadharo, yavata bahu bhasati; Yo ca appampi sutvana, dhammam kayena passati; Sa ve dhammadharo hoti, yo dhammam nappamajjati.

One is not a keeper of Dhamma merely by reciting much. The one who, having heard but little, sees Dhamma with the body — lives it — is the keeper of Dhamma, who is not heedless of it.
