Anupubbena medhāvī, thokaṃ thokaṃ khaṇe khaṇe;Kammāro rajatasseva, niddhame malamattano.

Anupubbena medhavi, thokam thokam khane khane; Kammaro rajatasseva, niddhame malamattano.

Gradually, little by little, moment by moment, the wise one should expel his own taints — just as a smith removes the dross from silver.
