Dhammapada · 16.5

Pemato jāyatī soko, pemato jāyatī bhayaṃ;Pemato vippamuttassa, natthi soko kuto bhayaṃ.

Pemato jayati soko, pemato jayati bhayam; Pemato vippamuttassa, natthi soko kuto bhayam.

From affection springs grief; from affection springs fear. For one wholly freed from affection, there is no grief — whence then fear?
