Dhammapada · 11.10

Acaritvā brahmacariyaṃ, aladdhā yobbane dhanaṃ;Jiṇṇakoñcāva jhāyanti, khīṇamaccheva pallale.

Acaritva brahmacariyam, aladdha yobbane dhanam; Jinnakoncava jhayanti, khinamaccheva pallale.

Those who have not lived the holy life, who have not gained wealth in their youth, pine away like old herons by a fishless pond.
