Alaṅkato cepi samaṃ careyya, santo danto niyato brahmacārī;Sabbesu bhūtesu nidhāya daṇḍaṃ, so brāhmaṇo so samaṇo sa bhikkhu.
Alankato cepi samam careyya, santo danto niyato brahmacari; Sabbesu bhutesu nidhaya dandam, so brahmano so samano sa bhikkhu.
Even if adorned, if one walks in calm — peaceful, tamed, settled, holy, having laid the rod aside toward all beings — that one is the brahmin, the ascetic, the bhikkhu.
