Yaṃ kiñci yiṭṭhaṃ va hutaṃ va loke, saṃvaccharaṃ yajetha puññapekkho;Sabbampi taṃ na catubhāgameti, abhivādanā ujjugatesu seyyo.

Yam kinci yittham va hutam va loke, samvaccharam yajetha punnapekkho; Sabbampi tam na catubhagameti, abhivadana ujjugatesu seyyo.

Whatever sacrifice or offering one might make in the world for a year, hoping for merit — all of it is not worth a fourth: homage to the upright is better.
