Dhammapada · 8.7

Māse māse sahassena, yo yajetha sataṃ samaṃ;Ekañca bhāvitattānaṃ, muhuttamapi pūjaye;Sāyeva pūjanā seyyo, yañce vassasataṃ hutaṃ.

Mase mase sahassena, yo yajetha satam samam; Ekanca bhavitattanam, muhuttamapi pujaye; Sayeva pujana seyyo, yance vassasatam hutam.

Though one offer a thousand monthly sacrifices for a hundred years, one moment's honoring of a self-cultivated person is better than a hundred years of such offerings.
