Dhammapada · 5.10

Madhuvā maññati bālo, yāva pāpaṃ na paccati;Yadā ca paccati pāpaṃ, atha bālo dukkhaṃ nigacchati.

Madhuva mannati balo, yava papam na paccati; Yada ca paccati papam, atha balo dukkham nigacchati.

As long as evil ripens not, the fool thinks it is honey. But when evil ripens, the fool comes to grief.
