Yāvajīvampi ce bālo, paṇḍitaṃ payirupāsati;Na so dhammaṃ vijānāti, dabbī sūparasaṃ yathā.

Yavajivampi ce balo, panditam payirupasati; Na so dhammam vijanati, dabbi suparasam yatha.

Even if a fool attends on a wise person all his life, he comprehends not the Dhamma — as the spoon comprehends not the taste of the soup.
