Yathāpi ruciraṃ pupphaṃ, vaṇṇavantaṃ agandhakaṃ;Evaṃ subhāsitā vācā, aphalā hoti akubbato.
Yathapi ruciram puppham, vannavantam agandhakam; Evam subhasita vaca, aphala hoti akubbato.
Just as a lovely flower bright in colour but scentless, so are well-spoken words fruitless for one who does not act on them.
