Dhammapada · 3.2

Vārijova thale khitto, okamokataubbhato;Pariphandatidaṃ cittaṃ, māradheyyaṃ pahātave.

varijo-va thale khitto, okamokata-ubbhato; pariphandati-dam cittam, maradheyyam pahatave.

As a fish flips when pulled from its watery home and thrown onto dry ground, so this mind thrashes about, struggling to escape Mara's domain.
