Phandanaṃ capalaṃ cittaṃ, dūrakkhaṃ dunnivārayaṃ;Ujuṃ karoti medhāvī, usukārova tejanaṃ.

phandanam capalam cittam, durakkham dunnivarayam; ujum karoti medhavi, usukaro-va tejanam.

The mind is restless, unsteady, hard to guard, hard to restrain. The wise one straightens it as a fletcher straightens an arrow shaft.
