Appampi ce saṃhita bhāsamāno, dhammassa hoti anudhammacārī;Rāgañca dosañca pahāya mohaṃ, sammappajāno suvimuttacitto;Anupādiyāno idha vā huraṃ vā, sa bhāgavā sāmaññassa hoti.
Appampi ce samhita bhasamano, dhammassa hoti anudhammacari; Ragancha dosancha pahaya moham, sammappajano suvimuttacitto; Anupadiyano idha va huram va, sa bhagava samannassa hoti.
Though he recites little of the sacred texts, but lives in accordance with the Dhamma — abandoning lust, hatred, and delusion, rightly understanding, with mind well-liberated, clinging to nothing here or beyond — he has a share in the contemplative life.
