Dhammapada · 1.18

Idha nandati pecca nandati, katapuñño ubhayattha nandati;'Puññaṃ me katan'ti nandati, bhiyyo nandati suggatiṃ gato.

Idha nandati pecca nandati, katapunno ubhayattha nandati; 'Punnam me katan'ti nandati, bhiyyo nandati suggatim gato.

The doer of merit delights here and delights hereafter; in both worlds he delights. 'I have done good' — thus he delights; and even more so when gone to a good rebirth.

— Dhammapada 1.18
